Lauderdale Limpers look forward to welcoming you to the first leg of the 2025–26 Borders XC Series on Sunday, 2nd November 2025. Both junior and senior races will start in Lauder Park, near the sports pavilion (postcode TD2 6AD).

🗺️ Course maps:
• Junior Route 2.02 miles Start 11:15am.

• Senior Route 4.52 miles Start 12 noon.

⚠️ Please note:

the race will start and finish as previous years,

however both routes are new for 2025.

🔥 Warm-up Area

Please warm up on the training pitches at the top end of the park — not on the football pitch.

🚗 Parking

We’re expecting over 700 runners and spectators, so please car share if possible.

Do not park on the A68. The Health Centre car park is reserved for emergency vehicles, marshals, and organisers.

There is no parking on the narrow roads around the park.

Main Parking (60+ spaces):

From the A68, follow signs for Stow, then turn left (signposted Primary School).
Use the school car park (TD2 6AD) and marked bays opposite the houses.
Please do not block residents’ access.

Additional Parking (all within 10 minutes’ walk):

Directions

From Edinburgh / the North:
Turn right before the filling station — parking available near the recycling area (approx. 20 spaces).
Or turn right after the filling station for on-street parking around Brownsmuir Park.
From the South:
Turn left after the 20 mph sign and park on-street in Thirlstane Drive.
From Galashiels:
The Southern Upland Way car park can accommodate around 20 cars.

Public toilets:
In the Main Square, Lauder (30p charge).
In the football pavilion at the park.
Refreshments:
Hot drinks and snacks will be available to purchase in the pavilion.

Rules

To be eligible for prizes, the runner must have “paid up” and completed FOUR rounds from the first six. If more than four rounds are completed, then the best four will count. Final placings are found by adding your four best finishing positions within your category. In the case of ties, the award goes to the best placed in the last or latest round. The final round is classed as a presentation only round and will not score but can be one of the four to qualify for a medal.

Juniors are from age 8 to 17 and the seniors are from 16 and older. Age category based on age at the first race.

Age Categories update: Age based on date of first race.

The senior race older age categories will be in line with the masters and will be in bands of 5 years starting at:

M35 age 35-39,
M40 age 40-44,
M45 age 45-49.... and so on to M80 age 80- 84.

Prizes are only awarded in the categories stated on the entry form, and the number of awards depends on the number of entrants. As a general rule, a 1st overall requires a minimum of 3 entrants, a 2nd overall 5 entrants and a 3rd overall 6 entrants.

For young athletes there will be at least a first prize in each category irrespective of the number of entrants.

For Seniors, if there are too few entrants in any category for prizes to be awarded, the category will collapse into the “harder” category, e.g. FVV will compete as FV.

Minimum age for Young Athletes is 8 years. Age category is based on the runners age on the date of the first race in the series.

Team Prize

The “team” competitions, (Male and Female for Seniors), will be decided on the basis of overall finishing positions of the first three club runners per round for the BEST FIVE rounds added together. There will be a trophy for the first team, (and should that not be one of the organising clubs, an additional team trophy for the first host club will be awarded.

Every senior runner gets “two” finishing positions: overall and category. There are additional prizes (irrespective of category) for first overall male and female and first overall male and female from the organising clubs. Winners are restricted to a maximum of TWO awards, one of which is their category prize.

All rounds start at 11.15am (Young Athletes) and 12 noon (Seniors, Vets) on Sundays. Race numbers with NFT chip timing will be posted to the address you have used on your race entry.

Code of Conduct for Runners, Spectators and Supporters

As a responsible runner, spectator and / or supporter I agree :

To act with dignity and display courtesy and good manners towards

all others at all times – before, during and after the event;

To avoid swearing, the use of abusive language, bullying, harassment,

acts of violence, physical abuse and irresponsible behaviour (which might be

dangerous to myself and others);

To respect the rights, dignity and worth of all those present and

treat everyone equally;

To consistently promote positive aspects of the sport such as fair

play and never condone rule violations;

And, in order to uphold the ethos of the series, to refrain from

posting inappropriate messages and / or photographs on social media.

Any runner who does not adhere to this Code of Conduct will be

asked by their club not to take part in any remaining legs of the current

series and any points accumulated to date will be discounted; if the

runner subsequently ignores this request and runs in a future leg, then they

will not be credited with any points.
Any spectator and / or supporter who does not adhere to this Code

of Conduct will be asked by their club not to attend any remaining legs of the

current series.
